I’ve been thinking recently of selling my E30 wagon. Not sure how much I’d get for it since their isn’t a market for it here due to very limited availability. Car is in amazing shape with about 125,000 miles on it. It’s an 1988 320i Touring. Whatever money I’d get from that would be put towards a C5 Z06. I have always loved these and have recently had an itch to purchase one. I daily drive a MK7 GTI so the Corvette would be a weekend toy and occasionally drive it to work on the weekdays.
Part of me says keep the wagon since I’ve owned it for almost three years. I purchased it in Germany while stationed there and shipped it back here when I returned to the US. What say you oppo?

Post a high price and see if anyone bites.

Owned a C5z for almost 10 years. You can’t go wrong. I DDd it for about half of that.

How much would you want for the E30?
I’m guessing more than I’m looking to spend, but I’d love an E30 Touring. I know another Oppo in Chicagoland who would as well. haha

I’m honestly not sure how much to ask for. Chassis/body has no rust and is way under mileaged. I’d probably ask for 10-12k and see what happens. Maybe even start at 15 and see what kind of bites I get if any. Can always lower it.

Yep, significantly out of my price range as I expected. haha Good luck though!
What about just LS-swapping the E30? Then you have the best of both worlds! ;)

Haha yeah it’s probably excessively high but like I said I can always go lower. I thought about that but if I keep it i want to keep it all period correct and keep it original.

There’s a pretty good market for them in the US. People were buying clapped out German ones on Ebay for $10k when they reached the 25 year limit a few years back.

I guarantee someone will buy that, especially if it’s as clean as you say it is.
There are people who go to a great deal of trouble to find these things and ship them to the US, because people consistently drop $10-15k on good examples.

If this were a few months from now I would pay $9k cash for it..... unfortunately I do not have my incoming money in the bank account yet.

Yeah there is definitely a market for it. What I meant was not many are consistently sold to get a gauge on how much I could get for it. Here are some pictures of it.
